The group was founded in 2007 by lecturers and students of the Orff-Institute of University Mozarteum Salzburg.

The incentive was to explore the process of integrating movement, music, voice, and speaking in our artistic work.

 

The first collaboration with choreographer Irina Pauls took place in 2009 and has continues ever since. In the productions up to 2016, DasCollectif under Paul’s direction has dedicated itself to the artistic work of Carl Orff in an original way. New artistic perspectives have opened up since DasCollectif has dissociated itself from the Mozarteum Salzburg in 2017 and cooperated with partners of the professional dance scene. The first production in this new constellation was “Carmina Austriaca” with the Vienna Boys’ Choir, performed in MuTh in Vienna.

 

The special relationship between dance and music, as well as the specific backgrounds of the performers with their diverse expertise in various fields of music and dance, and the resulting dynamic dimensions are key defining for new dance pieces.
